Subsea Electromechanical Actuator
Like an airplane a foiling sailing boat needs to be flown. The pilot or in this case, the skipper and the onboard crew need to control the ride height of the boat to guaranty a sustainable flight. To do so the foil are designed with flaps that are moved with an actuator which can be Hydraulic or Electric.
This electromechanical actuator has been designed to move 2.4 tons of loads in both direction at 35 to 40 mm/s top speed for a unit weight of 4.5 kg. The design offers a very high accuracy, backlash free and a high efficiency. We also incorporated an absolute position feedback sensor which can be used in very rough conditions and always give the exact position of the actuator.
This product has been designed, by Mobius Robotics, on demand, completely custom, dedicated to this application with very high constrains in term of environment and space allowance.
